Criteria: These songs are ranked based on popularity, importance and relevance to their respective genres.
Love songs come by the millions. So therefore, some limits do need to be placed. Songs that are legendary wedding staples and songs that epitomize specific subjects such as anniversaries are given preference. In addition, these lists exclude standard traditional perennial fare in the way of classical music (for example, Richard Wagner's 'Bridal Chorus'/'Here Comes The Bride,' Felix Mendelssohn's 'Wedding March,' Bach's 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring,' Bach's & Charles Gounod's 'Ave Maria,' Jeremiah Clarke's 'Prince of Denmark's March,' Charles-Marie Widor's 'Symphony for Organ No. 5,' and Johann Pachelbel's 'Canon in D'). These lists are based on a contemporary pop flair.
