Atif Aslam is one singer whose music transcends beyond borders of not just two South Asian nations but also across the seven seas. He became a heartthrob of millions of fans throughout the world with his soul-touching vocals that left the listeners mesmerised. This talented young Pakistani singer gained a decent foothold among Indian music lovers right from his early college days when he formed his music band. It was during college that he met girl who he fell in love with; the Atif Aslam wedding was a lovely one too. Any idea who she is? Here’s some info about the Atif Aslam wedding and some interesting tidbits.

The Rise Of Atif Aslam

Atif was born in Wazirabad, Pakistan in the year 1983. In spite of being an admirer of music he didn’t have any serious plans of making a career out of it, and he was actually interested in becoming a cricketer. At one point, he was even selected to represent the Pakistani cricket team in the under-19 World Cup. But in spite of his magic as a bowler, he could do little to hide the mojo of his enchanting voice. Encouraged by friends and well-wishers, he started singing albeit as a hobby and eventually met a certain Goher Mumtaz during his graduation, who shared a similar interest. The two formed a band named ‘Jal’ with their pocket money, and recorded their first songs. The songs were sleeper hits and became hugely popular. That marked the beginning of Atif’s music career. Although the band split later, Atif had laid the foundation of his music career, and there was no looking back for him since that point on.

Meeting Sara

Believe it or not, any plans of an Atif Aslam wedding were held off till he achieved success. So who’s the girl who waited eight years for him?

Well, Atif went on to do his higher studies from Government University in Lahore. He had already formed his band and set the foundation for a flourishing career in the music industry. It was around this time that he met a beautiful girl named Sara Bharwana, who was also pursuing her higher studies from the same university. Guess Atif was stumped by her flawless beauty, and sang a song or two to woo her! Either way, both became good friends.

Sara is a daughter of an ex-policeman, and she belonged to the state of Punjab, the same state to which Atif belonged. They hit it off instantly and started dating each other. Despite staying busy with his music career and travelling the world for shows, he always stayed committed to his college sweetheart who had by that time made a career for herself as an educationalist in Lahore.

It is said that their families were aware of their relationship but it was only in late 2012 that they made an official revelation at their homes. By late 2012, it had been more than eight years since they had met, and therefore it was high-time for a Sara Bharwana Atif Aslam wedding. Since their families were okay with the match, the long-time love-birds finally decided to get hitched in March 2013.

The cards were printed and the date was set – 29th March 2013. The pair had a mehndi and wedding ceremony, which were followed reception parties for friends and acquaintances from the industry. The wedding festivities were kicked-off with the mehndi ceremony held at Lahore. The duo looked resplendent with Sara wearing a orange coloured sharara with a purple coloured embellished dupatta. For the initial moments of the ceremony, Atif was sporting a light grey kurta with a black sleeveless jacket and pagdi. But later, he matched the colour palette with his fiancée by wearing a purple colour kurta and a orange coloured pagdi.

For the Sara Bharwana Atif Aslam wedding, Sara wore a maroon coloured lehenga with heavily decorated gold embellishments. She was also sporting some traditional Pakistani wedding jewellery, richly studded with emeralds. Atif was seen in an off white colour sherwani with some sequin work and a matching pagdi. The wedding was followed by a slew of receptions held at Lahore and certain other locations for family and friends. All the events were attended by numerous Pakistani dignitaries, and it was truly a festive affair. Since Atif is a singer himself, the guests didn’t have to look too far for celebrations, and Atif sang and shook a leg in most of the ceremonies, making it a memorable event.
